I teach online courses that are both asynchronous & synchronous.  I also teach hybrid courses, as well as traditional lecture courses. I urge students to carefully consider which class best suits their style of learning.  Lecture courses meet on a regular basis & have one on one interaction between Professor & other students.  While on-line courses require students to take the central role in the learning process. Hybrid courses meet once a week, so this is a great mixture of in-person & online learning. In a hybrid course, I lecture once a week while students work on assignments at home or they may receive video recordings of the material to review away from campus.

Note that attendance is an important part of my in-class lecture courses, especially hybrid courses since we only meet once a week.  My in-person courses are interactive, as I feel that students can best learn from one another in a fun & open atmosphere.  I love debating & discussing political & social issues --- I allow the students in each class to set the tone for the semester.  In both in-class & online courses I utilize different resources including social media, text messaging, podcasts & other fun interactive media to help students learn material & stay in contact with me.

I teach both Texas State & Local Government & U.S. Government, varying from semester to semester, as lecture courses & on-line courses.
